The EC is Watching
With Earth Week done and the school year coming to an end, many people are beginning to feel the summer bug. But remember to keep up your environmentally friendly practices even when you don’t have the Environmental Center reminding you at every turn. Before you drive your Hummer across the US think to your self, “What would the EC do?”
Being green is not just for the school year. It is important no matter where you go. Just because the Environmental Center isn’t hiding around the corner to tell you to be good, doesn’t mean that we aren’t keeping tabs on you. The EC watches every tree, every stream, and every animal, so be careful. You may not see us but we are there, ready to pounce.
If you throw away a plastic bottle, an aluminum can or a glass bottle we will throw it right back at you. We are in every trash can and dumpster. Pay attention to what the recycling rules are in whatever town you are staying in this summer. Some towns can recycle more than others. So be careful, what you throw away.
Don’t drive if you don’t have to! If you can walk, or run, or bike, or long board, or whatever, do it. You will be outside and get a free work out. If you have to drive try to carpool. Go with your friends or coworkers. Do it, or we will be very unhappy with you.
If you don’t think the EC is there, look around. Our staffers are all masters of deception, like spies, or gnomes, or the Lorax – however you want to look at it. We speak for the trees, the gardens, the grasses, the mountains, the air, and the sea. If you don’t believe me, take a look around. We are watching you.
