Graduates Keep Your Green on

April 23rd, 2009

It is that time of the year.  Papers are due, presentations are occurring, and seniors, well some of them, are graduating.  But it is important to keep our heads on straight and not forget all of the environmentally friendly things that we should be doing.  With all of the papers due many people on campus are pulling all nighters and early mornings just to make the day a little longer.  But for some reason it never quite works out.  24 hours is just not enough.  Since you will be leaving your lights on a little later why not switch your bulbs to compact fluorescent bulb to save a little energy.  The amazing thing about school is that once you get in your last papers and finish your last finals the summer is waiting at the door.

For those who are graduating remember to recycle all of the bottles that may be emptied during Graduation weekend.  Just because you have a degree doesn’t mean that you can just toss valuable recyclables.  That goes for everyone not graduating too, recycle, even in the summer.  You might not have the EC there to remind you so please think before you toss.

For all of us who are not graduating this semester lets just focus on getting through these next few weeks.  We are almost done and then it can be summer and we will get a chance to rest and relax for the next few months.  That is unless you are taking summer classes.  After school is over it will be time to relax, have fun, and get ready for the 2009-10 school year.  See you all then.
